Barbara Garside studied English literature at King's College, London, and then took the International House TEFL course. She taught EFL in London and Madrid for over 10 years and began teacher-training in 1987, after receiving her Diploma in TEFL. Since then, she has worked as a Director of Studies and teacher-trainer in Turkey and Venezuela, as well as in the UK. She now spends her time mostly writing and training teachers of ESOL.
She has written co-written Skyline, Attitude and the new course book Expressions, all publishes by Macmillan. And when she isn't writing or training, she can be found cooking and enjoying Turkish food, one of her great passions.
