Grammar or substitution tables have been widely used in language teaching for many years. The table, arranged in columns of units that are combined to make sentences, can help students to become more aware of the rules of syntax in English and to be able to identify parts of speech. Despite having been around for years, the typical grammar table is very often under-exploited in class.
