The Macmillan Readers series comprises a range of stories in which the language has been adapted to suit the needs of learners at all levels.
Starter-level Macmillan Readers: all Readers have 16 pages and approximately 300 keywords. The language used is comprised of single-clause sentences in the simple present and present progressive tenses. Some titles introduce the modals must and can. Readers at this level are illustrated and in full colour to heighten the interest of those reading for the first time in English.
The Readers website contains extra resources for teachers in the form of downloadable worksheets and exams. All of the readers in this series include an Audio CD on which the story is told clearly by a native speaker of English.
