Macmillan Readers – Upper-intermediate level

The Macmillan Readers series comprises a range of stories in which the language has been adapted to suit the needs of learners at all levels.

Upper-intermediate level Macmillan Readers have 80-144 pages and approximately 2,200 keywords. All Readers are illustrated and include background information notes, Points for Understanding questions and a full glossary of complex vocabulary. Selected titles include exercises at the back of the book. The future perfect conditional is used at this level, while sentences are more complex with and may contain a main clause and three subordinate clauses.

The Readers website contains extra resources for teachers in the form of downloadable worksheets and exams. All of the readers in this series include an Audio CD on which the story is told clearly by a native speaker of English.
