This activity can either be done as a straight dictation activity with the teacher reading out the sentences and the students writing the sentences in their notebooks or it can be done as a fun jigsaw dictation as follows:
- Divide the students into pairs.
- Place a copy of the worksheet at a distance from each pair.
- In pairs, the students take it turns to go to the worksheet, memorise a sentence, go back to their partners and dictate the sentence from memory. The partner writes the sentence. They then change roles so that students alternate roles of ‘writer’ and ‘reader’.
- Once they have dictated all of the sentences, they take the worksheet and correct their own work.
