Play mood sound:
- Say the sound ‘g’ and ask the children to repeat it. Show the grapheme.
- Ask the children to say the sound as if they were angry, happy, sad, scared, etc.
Play beat the clock:
- Focus on the target sound ‘g’, ask how many words the children say in pairs in 10 seconds.
Listen for the sound:
- Tell the children that you are going to say some words and they should listen to tell you if they can hear the sound ‘g’ at the end (use your arm to demonstrate)

Give out copies of the worksheet. The children read the words and colour those with ‘g’ at the end. A hidden picture will be revealed (a dog in a bag).
